Erwin Romulo has a degree in Fine Arts – although he can’t draw a straight line to save his life. In 1996, he started writing a column for The Philippine Star and has contributed articles and reviews to several glossy publications. He also served as contributing editor for reviews for Maxim Philippines. In 2004, he won a Don Carlos Palanca Award for Literature – the country’s most prestigious literary honor – for essay in English. The Singapore Tourism Board also nominated his piece for Best Travel Story the same year. Also a filmmaker, he recently retired as a director but continues to write and do musical scoring for film. Aside from HG, he counts his health as his lasting contribution to society.
